Abstract:
A description is given of a method for determining the fluctuating parameters of a scattered wave (amplitude, phase, and polarization) from the correlation functions of the photocurrent generated in a double-beam interferometer. It is shown that antisymmetric (relative to the carrier frequency) components of the mutual spectra can be separated and small frequency shifts can be detected. Asymmetric spectra with a shift of ~10 mHz are reported for a nematic liquid crystal in the dynamic scattering regime.
