Abstract:
Calculations are reported of the specific output energy of a thermal CO2–D2 gasdynamic laser operating in the regime of mixing of components. It is shown theoretically that when the initial parameters of the D2 gas are T0~1400–2500 K and p0~1–4 MPa, the addition of 3–5% CO2 to deuterium in nozzles with an expansion ratio 25–50 should ensure a specific output energy of 80–170 J/g.
