Control of the angular distribution of the radiation emitted by phase-locked laser arrays

Abstract: A numerical investigation was made of the influence of the number and packing density of a linear array of periodically arranged coherent sources on the efficiency of redistributing the radiation power from the side lobes to the main lobe of the angular distribution of the emitted radiation by using a binary phase corrector mounted in the image-doubling plane. The results are given of experimental investigations of a new device for improving the radiation pattern of phase-locked laser arrays.
