Comparison of external and intracavity four-wave mixing of cw infrared radiation

Abstract: A comparative study was made of external and intracavity four-wave mixing of cw infrared radiation in toluene. The intracavity mixing efficiency was found to be almost four times less than that of mixing outside the resonator cavity. The quality of the intracavity phase conjugation process deteriorated when the pump wave intensity exceeded 30 W/cm2 .
