Relaxation oscillations in solid-state ring lasers with arbitrary mode polarizations

Abstract: An expression is derived for the frequency of relaxation oscillations of a solid-state ring laser for arbitrary polarizations of the radiation, for an arbitrary feedback parameter, and for a cavity with amplitude and frequency nonreciprocity. The analysis is also applicable to linear double-mode and two-channel solid-state lasers.
