Abstract:
An investigation was made of the corrosion of the materials used in systems for circulating a liquid solution of sodium nitrite, which is applied as a light filter in lasers. It was found that such a filter was unsuitable for prolonged use in laser systems because of its corrosive effect on the majority of construction materials, and because it could not be used at temperatures below 0°C.
