Abstract:
A semiconductor injection laser with distributed extraction of the radiation is free from the physical limitations that would normally be imposed by the size and the output power of the generated oscillations. Such a laser has been realized experimentally and its theory is given in the present paper. The profile and the width of the coherent emission line, the total quantum efficiency, the watt-ampere characteristic, and other dependences are calculated.
