Abstract:
General analytical expressions are obtained for the light pressure force acting on a spherical particle located in the field of a Bessel beam. It is shown that an attractive force in a first-order beam can arise for particles with simultaneously positive or simultaneously negative permittivity and magnetic permeability. It is found that in the case of an off-axis location of a particle, its motion in the beam cross section can have a vortex shape. In this case, the particle can either move toward the beam axis or be pushed away from it.
