Abstract:
An investigation was made of the spectral-luminescence and lasing properties of the pyrromethene dye PM-567 in ethanol and in a polyurethane acrylate matrix. A high lasing efficiency (up to 65%) of PM-567 in the polymeric medium was demonstrated in a dispersive two-prism cavity under nanosecond pumping with the second harmonic of an Nd3+:YAG laser. An analysis was made of the reasons for the high efficiency of this dye and its operational lifetime in the polymeric matrix was determined.
