Generation of coherent radiation in F₂ color centers in an LiF single crystal

Abstract: Pumping with dye laser radiation generated coherent radiation in F₂ color centers in an LiF single crystal. The conditions were determined under which previous exposure of this crystal to ionizing radiation produced F₂ centers which were mainly responsible for the 0.45 μ absorption band. The spectral range of the operation of lasers utilizing these centers was determined.
