Experimental investigation of the stability conditions of a discharge in a gas stream

Abstract: It is shown that the flow of a gas through a discharge region gives rise to fluctuations of the current and the amplitude of these fluctuations depends on the gas pressure and flow rate. The conditions for stability of a discharge in a flowing gas are determined.
