Formation of the leading edge of an output pulse in a laser with a VO₂ mirror

Abstract: A computer simulation is reported of the growth of a pulse in a laser with a controlled VO₂ mirror. It is shown that the duration and the profile of the leading edge of an output pulse can be controlled by specifying the initial reflection profile of the VO₂ mirror.
