Abstract:
An analysis is made of the energy characteristics of a chemical DF–CO2 amplifier handling pulses of different durations. Different rates of initiation of the chain reaction between fluorine and deuterium by a beam of fast electrons or by photolysis are considered. Calculations and experimental data on the density of the inversion stored in a DF–CO2 amplifier indicate that such an amplifier is likely to be useful in laser fusion research.
