Abstract:
A copper vapor laser was constructed with a heater built into the gas-discharge tube. The active substance was heated separately using an additional low-voltage power supply when excitation pulses were applied simultaneously to the gas-discharge tube. This laser emitted at two wavelengths: 510.6 and 578.2 nm. The total output power was up to 2 W. The repetition frequency of the excitation pulses was varied from 0 to 20 kHz. The power consumption from the 220 V-50 Hz line supply was of the order of 1 kW.
