Divergence, mode composition, and polarization of radiation from a CO chemical laser

Abstract: A study was made of the structure of radiation from a cw CO chemical laser when the rate of flow of the reagents through the optical resonator was subsonic. It was found that the laser delivered unpolarized radiation with a divergence of 6–8 mrad, but this divergence decreased as the pressure of the medium increased.
