Mode hopping in a three-section injection laser

Abstract: A study was made of changes in the emission spectrum of a semiconductor laser consisting of three optically coupled and independently pumped plane–plane resonators. It was found that for certain pump currents such a laser exhibited self-modulation of the radiation power in the modes manifested by rectangular pulsations representing mode hopping.
