Optical transmission line with quasicompensated losses

Abstract: Combination of the functions of a transmission line and a distributed-gain quantum amplifier in a single light guide makes it possible to construct an attenuation-free optical communication line (with equal output and input signals). A calculation based on the example of transmission of a Stokes signal in a parallel pumping field in a glass fiber demonstrates the possibility of practical realization of a system of this kind.
