Abstract: A method was developed for investigating photolysis processes and laser characteristics of gaseous active media consisting of highly aggressive and unstable substances. An experimental investigation was made of four compounds with the As-I bond but the main attention was concentrated on the laser characteristics of (CF3)2AsI. It was found that the energy output of the (CF3)2AsI laser was limited by the heating of the working gas in the course of photolysis.
