Abstract:
An investigation was made of the spectra of oxotungstates Sr2.95(Nd, Nb)0.025WO6 and MeLa2WO7:Nd (Me = Sr, Ba) prepared in the form of powders as a result of solid-phase synthesis. Powders of BaLa2WO7 exhibited stimulated emission of neodymium in the region of 1.07 μm at liquid nitrogen and helium temperatures, as demonstrated by a strong narrowing of the luminescence spectrum and a threshold. A characteristic "pedestal cutoff" dependent on the pump power was observed in the excitation spectra of the luminescence. A study of the luminescence and luminescence-excitation spectra of europium oxotungstates was carried out in order to obtain more detailed information on the structure of the luminescence centers.
