Pulse-periodic CO2 laser with supersonic gas flow

Abstract: A description is given of a pulse CO2 laser with a transverse supersonic gas stream. The laser emitted pulses at a repetition frequency of 4–5 kHz. A pin cathode was used, the energy per pulse was 0.1 J, and the pulse duration was 20–40 μsec. The results obtained were compared with theoretical estimates.
