Saturation in generation of second harmonic of TEA CO₂ laser radiation in proustite

Abstract: A study was made of the conversion of the CO₂ laser radiation into the second harmonic in proustite at power levels close to the damaged threshold of the proustite crystal. The highest power conversion coefficient was 2.2%. The experimentally observed saturation of the conversion efficiency was due to thermal self-interaction.
