Abstract:
A theoretical analysis is given of thermally pumped cw recombination lasers and those utilizing mixing of reagents. Allowance is made for the limiting parameters of gas streams. An expression obtained for the gain of such lasers is considered from the point of view of the necessary cooling, initial concentration of the reagents, and optimal wavelength. A comparison is made of the gains achieved so far for both pumping methods in the case of specific active media.
