Chemical laser utilizing a mixture of carbon disulfide and sulfur trioxide

Abstract: Photoinitiated stimulated emission was obtained from a mixture of CS₂ and SO₃. The output energy was higher and the optimal pressure of CS₂ considerably lower than in the case of the CS₂+O₂ mixture. A qualitative explanation was provided of this increase in the efficiency of CS₂.
