Measurement of the degree of depolarisation of elliptically polarised laser radiation

Abstract: It is shown that a systematic error, associated with the anisotropic nature of natural fluctuations in a laser, is introduced in measurement of the degree of depolarisation of elliptically polarised laser radiation by a method based on its conversion into linearly polarised radiation.
