Abstract:
Equations are derived for the coefficients of the correlations describing the spatial and temporal characteristics of the Stokes radiation under parallel scattering conditions. A solution of these equations shows that the reproduction coefficient $h$ rises and reaches a maximum when the quantum efficiency of the Stokes component is 0.5 and this is followed by a fall of $h$. The maximum value of $h$ depends on the intensity and reproduction coefficient of the input signal and may differ considerably from the value predicted by the theory postulating a constant field.
