Polarization characteristics of quasiresonance Raman scattering by IR-pumped complex molecules

Abstract: An analysis is made of the polarization characteristics of Raman scattering by complex molecules under conditions of quasiresonance between the pump frequency and the intermediate vibrational–rotational band. Expressions are obtained for the depolarization and reversal coefficients, and the relationship between the scalar, antisymmetric, and symmetric components of the Raman scattering tensor is determined.
