Abstract: The specific features of the mechanical behavior of geophysical media (grounds and rocks) connected with their relaxation upon dynamic loads are analyzed. The influence of the intensity, nonuniformity, and rate of loading and the phase compositions of the media on the development and anisotropy of relaxational processes is shown. The existence of three mechanisms of relaxation, namely, viscous, structural, and migration (filtration) mechanisms, is shown.
