Abstract: The viscous additions to the stress tensor on the half–space surface over which a ball moves are calculated with the use of a viscosity (dissipative) tensor. The rolling friction force which corresponds to the Coulomb law and which is proportional to the velocity and which is simultaneously the lower estimate for the sliding friction force is found. Expressions for the radial and vertical displacements on the surface of an elastic half–space are given.
