Abstract: A nonlinear model of interaction of disturbances in the regime of coupled combinatorial relations is used to explain the dynamics of unstable waves arising due to introduction of controlled high-intensity disturbances into a supersonic boundary layer. The model includes effects of self-action and combinatorial interaction of the waves. The second-order model considered offers a rather accurate description of the streamwise dynamics of plane waves.
