Dual-wavelength lasing in three-barrier heterostructures with coherent electron transport

Abstract: An analytical solution of the Schrödinger equation that describes resonance transitions between three equidistant quantum levels has been generalized to the case of a two-frequency electric field. It is shown that this structure can be absolutely transparent for electrons in a broad range of amplitudes of the applied electric field, and the quantum efficiency of generation at each of the two frequencies (with allowance for a finite width of the resonance levels) can reach 80%.
