Abstract: Nonlinear optical susceptibility tensor has been determined for a macroscopic ordered system of parallel nanowires with arbitrarily ordered crystallographic axes in the plane perpendicular to the direction of parallel alignment. The results are applied to a model photonic crystal fiber with channels filled by an optically nonlinear substance. It is demonstrated that the obtained relations can be useful for the development of new nanomaterials and the interpretation of experimental results obtained for relevant inhomogeneous structures.
