Electric switching in bistable ferrite-piezoelectric microwave resonator

Abstract: The electric switching in a bistable ferrite-piezoelectric microwave resonator comprising a mechanically coupled yttrium iron garnet (YIG) ferrite film on a lead zirconate titanate (PZT) piezoelectric plate has been studied. The YIG/PZT resonator exhibits switching between stable states with small and large reflectance for a time on the order of a microsecond.
