Abstract:
The principal possibility of liquid-phase substances recognition with the aid of a single-channel sensor operating on a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) delay line has been experimentally demonstrated. The SH-SAW sensor was manufactured as a SAW delay line based on a layered structure on 36$^\circ$YX LiTaO$_3$ crystal substrate. The response signal is related to the analyt-induced change in a pulse characteristic obtained by the frequency-to-time domain transformation of one of the measured $S$-parameters.
