Abstract:
The photoluminescence (PL) of films based on ErQ$_3$ compound have been studied using samples manufactured by two methods. The maximum intensity of room-temperature PL due to ErEr$^{+3}$ ions was observed for the films prepared by thermal deposition in vacuum. This result is explained both by the higher concentration of optically active ErEr$^{+3}$ ions and by a more homogeneous composition and more uniform structure of the thermodeposited films as compared to those applied from solution.
