Abstract: An optical speckle correlation method has been used to measure the velocities of nonequilibrium nanoparticles suspended in a liquid medium. It is established that the excess velocity of nanoparticles upon the irradiation of their suspension by high-power laser pulses decreases with the time according to a law that is close to $t^{-1}$ and the characteristic relaxation time reaches several dozen milliseconds.
