Thermal ionization of an electron trap in Zn$_{0.97}$Cd$_{0.03}$S $\langle$Cu, Cl$\rangle$ luminophore facilitated by electromodulation of the effective capture cross section
Abstract:
A fundamentally new mechanism of electric-field-stimulated luminescence (the Gudden-Pohl effect) has been established in a metal-dielectric-luminophore-metal (MDLM) structure with Zn$_{0.97}$Cd$_{0.03}$S $\langle$Cu, Cl$\rangle$ powder luminophore. The luminescence observed during sequential excitation of the MDLM structure by light and electric field appears to be related to thermal ionization facilitated by electro-modulation of the effective electron capture cross section of a trap with an energy level of $E_c$–0.18 eV.
