Abstract: The influence of the length of a high-voltage discharge channel in water on the plastic deformation of a concentric cylindrical shell has been experimentally studied. Electric discharges induced by micro-conductors in water with channel lengths up to 420 mm have been realized for the first time, and their electrical characteristics have been measured. The effect of the discharge channel length on the efficiency of plastic deformation of a cylindrical shell has been determined.
