Abstract: The ion-electron emission of nanocrystalline aluminum alloy Al + 6% Mg is investigated. The nanocrystalline structure in the alloy was manufactured by torsional deformation under quasi-hydrostatic pressure. The ion-electron emission coefficient for the nanocrystalline alloy sample is higher than that of the coarsely crystalline sample. The increase in the coefficient is caused by the changes in the electron structure of the metals due to their deformation. In particular, it is demonstrated that the electron work function for the alloy Al + 6% Mg with a crystalline structure is 0.4 eV lower than that for the coarsely crystalline structure.
