A gap in the density of electron states of epitaxial graphene formed on the surface of a dimensionally quantized metal film

Abstract: Electron states of the epitaxial graphene sheet formed on the surface of a quantum-confined (dimensionally quantized) metal film have been studied. It is established that a gap (forbidden band) appears in the density of states of the epitaxial graphene sheet.
