Abstract: It is shown that, owing to the sorption of residual gases by a growing layer, their pressure in the growth microcell during zone sublimation recrystallization drops by several orders of magnitude as compared with the pressure in the vacuum chamber, in which the cell resides. Methods for utilizing this effect are discussed.
