Abstract:
The action of an elongated striker with a velocity of more than 8 km/s on a barrier after passing a porous screen is investigated. The region of effective interaction of the striker with the screen is established, coinciding with the anomalous behavior of the shock adiabat of compression of the porous metal of the screen. Thermal disturbance of the striker from the high temperature of the shock-compressed porous material of the screen and the features of subsequent penetration into the barrier are discussed.
