Abstract:
A new double acousto-optic monochromator (DAOM) based on a paratellurite crystal has been designed and constructed, in which the width of the transmission function can be varied by means of a periodic linear frequency (chirp) modulation of the ultrasonic control signal. The transmission function of the DAOM has been studied for various device parameters, including chirp frequency deviation, chirp modulation period, and control signal power. The proposed DAOM can be effectively used for filtration and analysis of spectral images.
