Determination of the optimal cut of InP photorefractive crystal at contra-directional four-wave mixing

Abstract: The dependence of the reflection coefficient at contra-directional four-wave mixing in the InP crystal on orientation of its plane of cut in the crystallographic coordinate system is analyzed. The indices of the crystal cut for which the intensity of the phase-conjugated wave reaches an absolute maximum under optimal conditions are found. A comparison of the diffraction efficiency during wavefront phase conjugation by combined gratings in the InP crystal of different cuts is performed.
