Abstract: A mechanism for the diamond submicron single crystals formation from diamond nanoparticles under high-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT synthesis) in the presence of organic compounds without any metal catalyst is proposed. The mechanism is based on the idea that under certain conditions, an additional pressure is created during the organic compounds pyrolysis results in formation of macroscopic single crystals.

Keywords: HPHT diamond synthesis, diamond nanoparticles, macroscopic diamond single crystals.
