Abstract: Experimental data indicative of a correlation between the sonoluminescence (SL) intensities at different points of a vessel with a liquid are reported. The SL disappears $\sim$0.1 s after switching off the ultrasonic generator, whereas the liquid conductivity remains the same for several minutes. Thus, the presence of ions in the liquid is not the only cause of the SL.
