Abstract:
The results of investigation of the promising thermoelectric compound CuAlO$_2$ by the nuclear-quadrupole-resonance spectroscopy of the copper nuclei $^{63,65}$Cu are presented. An assumption regarding the defect structure of the crystals is made on the basis of analysis of the asymmetric shape of the resonance lines. The experiments with the nutational nuclear quadrupole resonance of $^{64}$Cu are indicative of the axial symmetry of the electric-field-gradient tensor on copper nuclei in the investigated samples.
