The propagation of shear waves in the flat isotropic layer with thin coatings

Abstract: A simple model to study the effect of properties of thin coatings on the characteristics of elastic waveguide is considered. It was established that the choice of the elastic properties of the coatings can increase or decrease the phase velocity of shear waves.
