Optical properties and localization of electromagnetic wave field in groups of coupled 2D photonic crystal square resonators

Abstract: Spectral properties and electromagnetic field distribution in one photonic crystal resonator and in groups of coupled two and three 2D photonic crystal square resonators were studied by computer simulation. It was shown that in resonance conditions strong localization of electromagnetic field in resonators take place. The quality factor of three coupled photonic crystal resonators reaches 3000. As a result of electromagnetic interaction between coupled resonators Fano resonances appear, which can be observed in resonance bands.
