Coherent kinetics of multistep $\lambda$-scheme photoionization for laser isotope separation

Abstract: The paper considers equations for two and three-step schemes of coherent excitation of an atom by a laser field in the presence of two initial states. Optimal ratios are evaluated for obtaining the maximum population of the preionization state.
