Abstract:
The problem of stability of a continuous round plate located on supports limiting intermediate circular turn, when it is subjected to action of uniformly distributed radial pressure P along the outline is considered in this article. The solution is presented in the form of a combination of two simple problems. Hermite fifth-degree polynomials have been used in the present study, which will enable to completely satisfy the bboundary conditions. The location of supports has been determined at which the plate shows the greatest stability. It is proved and experimentally established that the same result is obtained for a compressed rod located on two intermediate supports, limiting rotation.
